Leave Moncks Corner and take Hwy. 52 to North Charleston. Turn left on Mabeline Road which goes by Trident Tech. Follow Mabeline for a short distance and then take a right after you cross the
railroad tracks. Go about one block then turn left after you pass the Hanahan Ball Field and follow the road to the Bettis boat landing.
Wildlife
You can expect to see an abundance of wildlife on this short trip. You may encounter a large population of alligators, Great Blue Heron, White Ibis, Osprey, Cormorants, and an Eagle or two.
Description
One of several great places in our county to veiw
wildlife. This 600 acre reservoir includes a rookery for white ibis and the opportuntity to see a large number of alligators. The best time to paddle this trip will be early morning or late afternoon. You will have a better chance to see wildlife and avoid the heat of the day.

Your paddle can vary from several hours to more than a half .
Hazards
Rough water during times of high winds and boat traffic.
